‘t afford the Alpha 9 but love the cool features it has? Look no further! Today, Sony announces the 7th generation RX100 series the RX100 VII (mark seven) with some of the good stuff from the A9 packed into a small body.
The RX100 VII is powered by a newly developed 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor and the latest-generation BIONZ X image processor. This combination delivers new levels of autofocus performance and achieves speed breakthroughs that have previously only been seen on the Alpha 9.
No improvements from the previous version, it uses the ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* 24-200mm F2.8 – F4.5 Large Aperture High Magnification Zoom Lens. A very handy focal length for all purpose.
The RX100 VII offers a world-leading 357 focal-plane phase-detection AF points and 425 contrast-detection AF points. With a newly optimised lens drive control, it creates the world’s fastest 0.02 sec AF time. A major advancement in AF/AE tracking performance during continuous shooting up to 60 times per second and captures fast-moving action at 20fps with AF/AE tracking with swift and accurate focus.
The image sensor is also blackout-free while shooting in live view, even when continuous shooting at 20fps, the same handling as the Alpha 9. The RX100 VII also
According to Sony, this is the first time in a compact camera, the RX100 VII introduces advanced ‘Real-time Tracking’ and ‘Real-time Eye AF’ capabilities. ‘Real-time Tracking’ utilises Sony’s latest algorithm including artificial intelligence-based object recognition to ensure that subjects can be captured with excellent accuracy, even via the touch panel on the rear screen. ‘Real-time Eye AF’, the latest version of Sony’s acclaimed Eye AF technology, employs AI-based object recognition to detect and process eye data in real-time, resulting in improved accuracy, speed and tracking
Like its predecessor, this is a 4K and now with full pixel readout and no pixel binning in high bit rate XAVCS, Hybrid Log-Gamma (HDR) / S-Gamut3.Cine / S-Log3, S-Gamut3/S-Log3. For Vloggers, it has vertical-position data recording for movies. It also has Super Slow Motion recording at up to 1000fps for creative footages.
One improvement from the result of previous user’s feedback is the inclusion of a standard microphone jack for better audio input. This feature has greatly upgrade the status of the camera to be a real VLOG device.
This camera will be available only in August this year and price to be announced. Visit here for details.
